1990 Squad
A
set of figures released to commemorate the 1990 World Cup in Italy
They were distributed in Italy only at "I P" petrol stations
You may recognise a few familiar faces amongst this set, notably Walter Zenga
the famous Italian 'keeper of the '90s, Paolo Maldini who was just starting out
his international career, Fernando Di Napoli who played at Napoli with Diego Maradona
in the 1980's when they won the Serie A league title
and
of course Gianluca Vialli in his Sampdoria days when he had hair !
These
figures are very difficult to obtain because they were issued such a long time
ago
I
have all 15 of the figures released in my collection. There was some confusion
as to the identity
of the 15th figure shown below that it may have been either Guiseppe Bergomi or
Luigi Di Agostini but I have now had it confirmed as definitely
Guiseppe Bergomi by my
Italian friend "INTER291103" who pointed out that Bergomi wears the
captain's armband as he did at Italia 90

Extremely rare set of all 15 figures contained in the original packaging as issued by IP in 1990
*In over 10 years of collecting/selling figures this is the only set that I have ever found within it's original packaging which although "badly damaged" on the outside is virtually perfect inside & all figures are mint condition
